What makes a useful technical report

A small reproducible example is more useful than a screenshot alone. For parser, checker, or crawler-matching issues, include the minimum information needed to reproduce the result.

For Generator or Validator issues

  • The exact robots.txt lines that trigger the problem
  • What you expected the tool to generate or report
  • What the tool actually generated or reported
  • Whether the problem happens in Simple or Advanced mode

For Checker or Tester issues

  • The public site URL or a non-sensitive example URL
  • The crawler token being tested
  • The expected Allowed or Blocked result
  • The winning rule or source line shown by the tool

Do not send credentials or private URLs

robots.txt is public by design, but bug reports can accidentally contain private-network addresses, authentication tokens, query-string secrets, customer data, or unpublished staging URLs. Remove sensitive values and reduce reports to a safe public example whenever possible.
